Parental Involvement and Support

My name is Mrs Wright and I am the Parental Involvement Worker (PIW) at St Francis Catholic Primary School.

My role is to provide a supportive link between school and you, our parents, carers and friends. I can provide help, advice and support for you and your family, from your child starting in Nursery or Reception and throughout their school journey until they leave us in Year 6.  I am also able to support other agencies, for example a health visitor or school nurse, if you are worried about your child’s health or if you are financially struggling, I can support you too. One of the main areas of support is ensuring that children attend school regularly, this means achieving the target of 95% attendance. We work with parents and carers to support good attendance and are always on hand to offer support and guidance. If you have any issues around your child’s attendance please call in for a chat.  There is help available, please just ask.

Another area of my work is with the children offering pastoral chats, friendship groups and I also run our successful gardening club.

Every Monday morning, I host our weekly coffee mornings. This is a chance to meet up with other parents, chat and ask questions.

You will see me in the playground on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings so feel free to come and say hello! Alternatively I can be contacted via the office (01274 638520) and I will get back to you.
