Moving on in school to the next year group is a really big deal in our children's lives. It is extremely important that we, as staff and parents, support and prepare them as much as possible to ensure a smooth transition and a strong, positive start to their new class and teacher.
This year, more than ever, preparing our children for the next stage in their lives is vital. Despite the constraints we are currently working within, we are endeavoring to prepare the children as much as possible for September.
Wednesday 8th July is our transition day at St Francis, which is for both children in school and those still at home. Your child's new teacher in September will set the children some transition activities to do either through the school website (FS and KS1) or through Google Classroom (KS2). To accompany these activities, your child's new teacher will also share a video with the children of what to expect in their new class.
As many of you are aware, usually we invite parents in at the end of our transition day to meet their child's new teacher in person. Unfortunately, this is not possible this year. Instead, your child's new teacher has created an information video for parents/carers, which can be found below.
We hope you find our transition arrangements and information useful ahead of September.
